NEW ASPCA TRAINING AREA COMPLETED!

HiCaliber is very pleased to announce the completion of our new training area, generously funded in part through a $10,000 ASPCA Matching Expansion Project grant! This grant, which was matched anonymously, was generously awarded by the ASPCA to HiCaliber in 2015.  It was for the creation of a second arena, new round pen and six additional training stalls in support of our efforts to rehabilitate and rehome rescued horses.

On April 23, 2016 during HiCaliber's Help a Horse Day celebration, the new Price Family Arena was dedicated in honor of our longtime friend and supporter Richie Price and in memory of his wife and a beloved volunteer, Beverly Price, who passed away a few months prior to its dedication. Special thanks to our friends at Lumberjack Services, Inc. who worked 'round the clock to help us finish this project in time.

The project has transformed a vineyard into a fully-functioning second training area. When HiCaliber applied for the ASPCA’s Expansion Grant in 2015, we never could have envisioned how much we would grow in the following year. A second training area was to be integral to our successes when we were rescuing just four to seven horses a month. Now, as we rescue between five and fifteen horses every week, this new arena and training area will play a pivotal role in our ability to prepare horses for adoption. Our focus as an organization is to keep horses from entering the slaughter pipeline and we are so grateful for the support of the ASPCA for coming alongside us in this shared mission.

The new ASPCA-funded training area is a focal point of HiCaliber Horse Rescue's facilities which reside on a 16-acre ranch in Valley Center. To join on a tour and see this exciting expansion visit HiCaliber, please email joinus@hicaliber.org
